    UX570: One of Toyoda's New 5-Axis VMCs

Toyoda Machinery plans to display its new five-axis vertical machining centers (VMCs) at this year’s IMTS, Booth S-8336. Toyoda’s UX570 (watch the UX570 video) and UA2090 five-axis VMCs will be on display with two other VMCs, three horizontal machining centers (HMCs), and the Select G CNC Cylindrical Grinder.

The UX570 five-axis Gantry style VMC features highly rigid bilateral table support structure for more reliable machining. The dual ball screw design in the Y axis provides support for the 14K (opt. 22K) rpm high speed spindle.  A high torque built-in motor is equipped on the direct drive table making high speed indexing possible.

The UA2090 five-axis VMC delivers unparalleled flexibility and the same high performance and extreme precision in heavy-duty applications as Toyoda FV vertical machining center models. Ideal for manufacturers with heavy-duty machining needs, the UA2090 five-axis features a 8,000 rpm, CAT 50, 30/35 hp spindle.  The UA2090 is ideal for complex machining of large parts.

In addition, Toyoda will complement the new five-axis VMCs with two other VMC models:

    • FV1165 VMC – Consists of a large Meehanite cast iron base paired with an extra wide, inverted Y-shaped column which provides the casting greater tensile strength and maximum vibration dampening capabilities.
    • SB216 bridge-type machining center – Delivers reliability and high-accuracy machining suited for large and heavy part manufacturers in industries such as aerospace and energy.

Toyoda’s HMC line will be represented by the following:

    • FH400J – Toyoda’s smallest and most economical HMC—ideal for job shops and companies with limited floor space that require high speed machining with a 40 taper spindle.
    • FH450S with 280 tool Compact Matrix and 18 station RGV – An automated cell with 17.7” pallets and the speed and rigidity to meet the demands of high-speed machining across a variety of applications.
    • FH630SX with 504 Matrix – Features technological advancements that include a comprehensive tool matrix-style magazine. The matrix, an alternative to the standard 60 (opt 120) chain-type magazine, stores up to 504 tools and allows for a quick tool change with the four-position tool changer turret that allows for un-interrupted magazine operation.

Toyoda will also display the flexible Select G CNC Cylindrical Grinder featuring proprietary Stat® Bearing technology that ensures more stability and durability than conventional bearings contributing to a long operating life. The Select G also delivers high-precision grinding with the option to manually change between an angled or plain head configuration.
